I have always been intrigued by the idea of a dream. I also find myself drawn to the concept of dread, as well as decay and erosion. For this exploration of work I was very interested in what a dream could look like as opposed to a nightmare or dread. The process of creating this work came from the act of gleaning through areas around town. Quietly observing and noticing things. I found myself in forests, abandoned buildings, and even an old church. I took several hours of the day to really notice things in the area I was and took hundreds of photos. As for the paintings,I chose some photos I took from those sessions and got them printed on large xerox blueprint paper. I then stuck them to the canvas and painted over them to create a sense of mystery on what is really there. The works used were the photos in the photography tab, the "drea m/d" paintings, and the film "9 Fragments Of A Dream". To me, these works really capture a feeling. Dreams and dread. Little moments inside a bigger picture. The mystery of what is going on outside the image. Thank you for your time for reading this and I hope you enjoy the artwork. I am a multimedia artist working in the intersections of experimental film, photography, visual art, and music. My practice explores the fragile boundaries between memory, perception, and the uncanny, often through dreamlike imagery, decaying spaces, and textured soundscapes. Across my work, I seek to create experiences that blend reality and dreams. In my photography I am drawn to decaying moments and textures. In my music I create ambient synth textures that amplify emotional resonance. My work comes from a longing to capture impermanence and transform it into reflection.
